PBL 2 - Racial Integration


As usual mem give a topic to do discussion in our next class on Wednesday. The topic was racial integration among youngsters, students, teenagers and younger generation. On that nite, i went to PTSL siber to find out article from internat. On the next class, as usuall mem give explainesence about the topic and ask us to sit in a group of five to do our discussion. While, we are discussing in our group mem came to our group and ask one by one what article we got base on the topic. In my group the article we got for promote racial integration are national service, vision schools, culture show, traditional games, and college activity in university.

On Monday, immediately, after last group present their presentation, we’re briefing about the second topic, known as racial integration. As usual, we must complete the KNLA form. During this time, we discussed about the new information that we already found. We are work on a small presentation among our group members to talk and to share something that we have found .Our next step, is by dividing the small part of topic to each other to present on the presentation day. We decided to meet on Friday at PTSL to discuss more about this topic and to create our poster. After made some discussion we were complete our poster neatly. Next, we only waiting for the presentation day on Monday. da~ ~

last monday at 10 august 2009,my group was present second PBL that is about racial integration among ukm's student.what have i learned today is to make my presentation better than before.i also learned how to control my nervous when in front of others student.for the next meeting,i should ask my teacher what should we do for the next PBL and for my group,we discuss where we want to discuss our task that given to us.for this presentation,i don't make any differences among my friend,because i does not have enough time to prepare my presentation.for the meeting,i hope i can give fully commitment and pay attention on what the teacher say.

Last monday on 10 August we had present our PBL 2 that is abut Racial Intergration.
Before present I have do my own rehearse at my room.What I've learned that day is how to make our present more better.We need to stay calm while present our topic. For me our group presentation were present better then PBL1 and we had enjoy that presentation. While waiting the other group present,we had enjoy our cup of coffee..hehe..But I also learned some presentation skill from the others group.For the next PBL I want to make a better presentation than the last Monday.So that our group must make discusion about the next topic..

PLAN  TO  ENHANCE  RACIAL  INTEGRATION  LAUNCHED

Reducing  racial  segregation  and  inter as  well  as  intra-racial  tension  are  among  the  five  main  objective  of  the  national  unity  and  integration  plan  2006-2010.

The  plan  which  draws  up  steps  to  be  taken  for  the  next   five  years  to  enhance  racial  integration  in  the  country  was  launched  by  the  Yang  di-Pertuan  Agong  Tuanku  Mizan  Zainal  Abidin .

Among  the  other  objectives of  the  plan  are  to  boost  the  spirit  of  unity  and  patriotism  among  Malaysian   and  to  increase  the  level  of  tolerance  and  harmony  among  the  various  ethnic  groups  in  the  country .

The  plan  which  was  approved  by  the  cabinet  on  may  17  last  year  was  drawn  up  in  the  hope  of  further  strengthening  racial  unity  and  creating  a  sense  of  belonging  in  this  country  as  well  as  a  feeling  of  being  proud  to  be  Malaysian  .  The  plan  outlined  the  strategies  which   government  agencies  and  statutory bodies  were  supposed  to  implement .

The  agencies  were  to  foster  close  racial  relations  by  applying  principles  like  mutual  understanding  and  to carryout  steps  like  monitoring  of  current  affairs  or  conflict  of  impact  of  unity .

The  private  sector  such  as  non-government  organization  and  the  public  are  to  be  roped in.  The  plan  also  sought  to  promote  a  national  identity  through  a  quality  education  system  and  to  boost  the  people  understanding  of  the  rukun  Negara  and  the  federal  constitution  .  The  plan  said  one  of  the  challenges  faced  was  that  integration  among  the  various  ethnic  groups  in  the  country  was  stiil  at  a  “functional  level” .

Integration  will  happen  sincerity  , a  caring  attitude , honesty  , and  understanding

Reflection Journal 2.

In the class, we were given topic by our lecturer, which have to be presented a week later. The topic was about racial integration and unity. My group remained right after class to discuss the action plan.

Every group members were assigned to search information based on the sub-topic given. I was given to present about government’s role in promoting racial integration and unity in Malaysia. After came back from the class, I straight away searched the information needed on the internet.

After I have read some articles, I found that government has adopted several strategies to deal with issues of racial integration and unity. I picked up the important points which I thought relevant and made the summary of it. After that, I started to do rehearsal and made the key word for every points.

On the day of the presentation, I was a bit nervous which I didn’t really know why. Maybe because I still can’t memorized all of the points on my notes. And during the presentation, I always paused and had left some of the points. I hope I can do better for the next presentation.

for the next topic, which about racial integration issue. in a short time , we should settle it and find all the material and preparing for presentation.. same like PBL1.. maybe, it will be easier because we have a little bit experience from that.. my group straight foward divide our topic into small part to discuss.
Follow by the handout that given by Madam , percentage of youngster concerned about racial unity are very small. so that i will make a research and make a action plan to make the percentage bocome to the highest. i find 3 or more website to look afact about the issue of racial problem .
As everyone know, racial intergration is along issue but it did not be a critical issue if education about racial was given since early childhood.

My group members had been contributed thier idea with excellent . after we present all the material that we found, we divided each of members by one topic. i got part of academic education . it maybe easier for me to explain because i already feel what student had been go for that issue. so now, what the important thing is, i must prepare for the presentation!

After the topic for the PBL 2 given, my group and I was discussed about the racial integration based on our knowledge. So that, I was take part in give idea for the topic and then leader group was sign for each member to take one activity from what have discussed. For the PBL 2, I take activity from academic aspect that is about English Speaking Zone (ESZ) that already have in UKM for all college. What I need to know more details about this is like in what way we can suggest to cope the problem of racial integration. What I have learned that day, in Sabah all ethnic group are united than here where I have know it from one of members. My plan for the next meeting to find out the information from the true sources and discuss it back about the topic.

After the presentation of the racial integration, I have learned new things that is about the games, food, customs of other race such as chinese, Indian, and ethnics group. For all the questions that I want to know before this was answered by others group and also my members group. I have present about the English Speaking Zone ( ESZ ) that we can do the activities through it such as explorace and public speaking. As I have talked and I think everyone have clear about what I want to delivered to all.

On the 3th of August 2009(Monday), madam had been given the article for PBL2 about racial integration. We are read and discuss the article together with madam in the class. At the end of this class, madam informed to all students to find out the information of this topic. So, for the next meeting we can discuss in the group what the information that we are found.

 

On the 5^th of August 2009(Wednesday), we are continued our discussion. I as a member in my group and for me this topic is interesting because we can know the other races and their cultures. We share all informations that we are found from internet, books and maybe from magazines. My group members had been contributed their ideas and at the same time, we think the action plans to solve this problem. After that, we divided the point to each others for next week presentation. We had a meeting to do our poster on Friday at PTSL and prepared to present next week…
