Nur Atiqah binti Abdul Aziz A 129240 Foundation English (set 25) Monday and Wednesday (4 p.m to 6 p.m) My personal reflective journal: Unemployed graduated. (RJ 2 : PBL 1) Our lecturer gave to us an assignment about unemployed graduated in past 3 weeks ago. Immediately after the class, I was online to search the information that related to the topic. I loved to get my material from the internet such as at the star online and thesis online. Moreover, I was using my 330 English essay book to get information regarding to this topic. Furthermore, after I collected all the information, I will read it roughly. Next, I will read it again and highlight the main ideas about this topic such as the cause, the effect, the consequences or anything that related to the main topic. On the next class, I was bring my materials to gather it with my friend�s materials and to shared all the information together. In addition, we will discuss about the topic together. Before the presentation day, I will make sure that I will understand the whole topic especially the point that I will be present. In part of that, I will ask my friend especially my group members if there are something that I am not understand. To be sure, I will do my own rehears before the presentation. Usually, first I will write down the main point that I will present. Next, I will change the hard words to the words that more simple and easy to understand. After that, I will practice with talking to myself especially before I fall a sleep. Another ways that I use to do rehears before the presentation is to write down what I will say in many times to make sure that I remember the keywords of my speech. Moreover, if I have a suitable time, for example when my roommate is not in my room, I will try to spend my time to practice in front of mirror alone. It can help me to build my self-confident before the presentation day. I hope that my journal will help you in order to being prepared for a presentation day. On 22 th of July 2009,

            Our lecturer explains us on how to complete our KNLA form to gather and share all our information that we already searched for this topic ‘unemployed graduates’.

She also explained us about the reflective journal that we should submit to her either by new paces or by paper. Next, our lecturer want us to think out of the box based on our topic to complete the ‘what we need to know’ and learning issue‘s column in the KNLA form. With all our information that we have, we was gather it and put all the information to the KNLA form based on what we know, what we need to now, and following by the learning issue that we get along from this topic. At the end of this class, our group leader was divided the extra question to all our group members included her to search more information.

On 27 th of July 2009,

            On this class, we were discussed about the new information that we already found. We are work on a small presentation among our group members to talk and to share something that we have found. Next, after our entire group member presented, we add more information to complete the learning issue’s column. In addition, we also were thinking about the action plan to solving this unemployed graduate problem due to some aspect such as student, government, and employers. Furthermore, we divided the point to present on Wednesday.  I choose to talk about family responsible on the presentation day. On the night of 28 the 2009, we were have a meeting to do some practice and in the same time we were complete our poster on that night together.

On 29 th July 2009,

We were presented our action plan regarding to this unemployed graduated topic in well. We were the first group presented as volunteer. In this presentation, we were explained our suggestion on how to help the unemployed graduate and on how to prevent this issue in the future. By this presentation, there was a lot of new information that I have learned. For instance, the fact that the employers love non-graduated student to do work that usually done by graduates. It is just because they want to cut cost and paid less to the worker. Moreover, the fact that parent play a major role in career decision making of their sons or their daughter. Actually, there were many more information we have found from the other groups. At the end of class,our lecturer was remained us to complete the KNLA form and also to do our personal reflective journal and lastly, to prepared for the next PBL MODULE which title with racial integration.

topic: unemployed graduates
first of all, before i get the topic, madam is already briefing about the concept of PBL.. for me, this is a good way to express ourself and sharpen our comunication skill. before i start my task, we should make a group member.. i was very grateful because my group give a full comitment and cooperation..i'm so proud with them.. atiq, far, wani and sathiya... i have a responsibilities as a group leader for the first task. after we are already given a topic, we discuss together and everyone express all thirr idea.. thats a great way.. so far, we have a many issue and a lot of question mark to solve.. so that, a best way is find out all the information in internet and maybe news paper.. one of the problem when search in the internet is alot of blogger.. sometimes people tring to blame another people about this issue of umemployed graduates... it could be try to find ourself mistake ..dont ask what country doing to us, but ask what we oing to coutry right... i try to find all the material that i need to know... so far, i get a lot of prove saying that the real problem and the most is student self.. after dividing a job depend of the factor of the unemployed graduate, i choose student factor for a presentatio. the problem is to meet my gruop are very hard bacause everyone have thier own time table, but lastly we decided tu meet after maghrib in ptsl... we do the poster together to make uot friends easy to understand. simple but have a fact. after 10.00 pm we already finish it... waiting for the presentation..

The type of materials that I look for, is from newspaper and information at internet. When I get the material, firstly I collect all the information and try to understand word by word. Secondly I read all about the article. Thirdly I try to pick out as many as possible the main point about the information that I have found. Actually when I read the article, I don’t really understand what the text means. But after I read twice, I know very well what the article all about and I have an idea to do this duty. In addition, to make me really understand I refer to the dictionary about what words or phrase that I don’t know.

Before the presentation I try to make a short rehearse, but sometime my rehearse did not work as good as I want. So because of that problem, I also bring my short notes to help me during the presentation. To make everyone understand about what I present, I always use the simple word and try to speak to all of you by make an eye contact with the other.

(RJ 2 : PBL 1) Before I start presentation about the racial integrations in Malaysia, my point about the festival that our country has celebrated that influence to the other multiracial and ethnic. For example Eid al-Fitr (Aidilfitri) there are a lot influence from Malay, Chinese and Indian. Ang pow is prize of gift to someone that not marriage for present. Thus in Eid al-Fitr in Malaysia they also have given some Ang pow that called ‘Duit Raya’ to the youngsters. There a lot of information that I should be taken from the articles whether in webpage, magazine, newspaper or others to get strong for my evidence. The topic must be related to contain that I’m looking for it. If not there will be no proof and all contains I talk in the presentation is unacceptable.

Before I do presentation, I must job done my list and make it simple as possible. When do the presentation I must get dress well to get first impression to my fellow friends or audience and lecturer. Moreover speech must be in humour with joke and facts that have been given to make my presentation looks relax like we have conversation to other people. Thus I don’t want to talk formally like in lecture hall, boring and make us fall sleep and don’t focused to the topic that I will say it. Besides that we are human being that have emotion that not steady, we are not machines just do it and do it.

For conclusion I will try my best to do this presentation, and I hope my friend and lecturer will accept and have fun. Besides I hope my team will do well especially Azmi, try your best. PEACE
